ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. / TAMPA, Fla. (July 31, 2019) – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series® announced today that Atlantic City, New Jersey will become the newest destination for the series with the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll® Atlantic City Half Marathon & 5K event taking place on May 15-16, 2020. This marks the first brand-new Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series event in the U.S. since 2015. Bringing the Fun to the Run™ through music, entertainment, and community immersion, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City Half Marathon will take place during the twilight evening hours, treating an anticipated 10,000 participants to a one-of-a-kind race experience that highlights the beach and Boardwalk atmosphere. Registration for the 2020 Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City Half Marathon and 5K presented by Brooks will open on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 with further details available at www.runrocknroll.com/AtlanticCity.
Race week will kick-off on Thursday, May 14, 2020 when the Health and Fitness Expo opens to the public, featuring the latest products and trends in the running industry. Runners and walkers of all levels from around the world will then take in the sights and sounds of Atlantic City on Friday, May 15, 2020 for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City 5K presented by Brooks and continue to use the Beat in Their Feet™ on May 16, 2020 for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City Half Marathon. After starting out at Bader Field, race participants will experience the beautiful shore towns of Ventnor and Margate before they eventually make their way to the world-famous Boardwalk for the final six miles. Playing to the rich musical history of New Jersey, the musically-themed event will amp up the on-course bands and DJ’s for competitors to enjoy as they race their way to a finish line after-party festival.

To celebrate the announcement of the new event, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series will be hosting a meet up in Atlantic City with runners and walkers or those looking to get started are encouraged to come out to the Boardwalk and Albany Street at 7:30 p.m. From there a group will set out for a two to four-mile fun run/walk. Attendees will then gather at The Beach Bar at Hard Rock for food, beverage, giveaways and more. Onsite registration for the new Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City Half Marathon and 5K presented by Brooks will be open at a special price. Participants that registered will also receive an event weekend in-training tank top.
