Purchase of SportProsUSA, Inc. at Atlantic City Convention Center

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (Thursday, December 6, 2018) Zero Gravity Volleyball and Select Events Basketball have signed contracts with the Atlantic City Sports Commission and Spectra Venue Management to bring a consecutive three week tournament series to the Atlantic City Convention Center after the purchase from SportProsUSA, Inc.

The Atlantic City Sports Commission and Spectra have worked together to find a seamless way for these specific sporting events to take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center, while keeping costs low for event organizers. With the approval of $966,000 from the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), Spectra has purchased 18 courts with 36 basketball hoops and 18 volleyball nets to be utilized.

SportProsUSA has been the premier source for building and maintaining sport courts in the metro area for over 10 years. As the exclusive Sport Court® residential and commercial court builder in New Jersey and New York City, SportProsUSA has a proven history and unparalleled experience of installing unique, playable and safe surfaces for every sport in every environment.

“The ‘all under one roof mantra’ that is sweeping the sports industry entices event organizers to host their events in a sizable location that is large enough to hold their event without using multiple locations. This purchase allows us to become a major competitor not only on the East Coast, but also throughout the country,” stated Daniel Gallagher, sports account director for the Atlantic City Sports Commission.

“The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority is pleased to have been able to fund the acquisition from SportProsUSA courts to be used at the Atlantic City Convention Center and Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall,” said CRDA Executive Director Matt Doherty. “This, along with other investments in our buildings, has allowed us a competitive advantage over other cities, as is shown by the booking of this prestigious tournament series,” he added.

Zero Gravity Volleyball will be hosting the Boardwalk Block Party April 26-28 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

Select Events Basketball will be hosting two events at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The Main Event will take place May 3-5 and Atlantic City Showcase will take place May 17-19.

“We are very pleased to be extending our relationship with Zero Gravity and Select Events at the Atlantic City Convention Center. They are a great organization that provides high level events around the country to help teams get maximum exposure,” said Spectra’s Dean Dennis, General Manager of the Atlantic City Convention Center. “This partnership now includes three separate events for Atlantic City and we are thankful for the opportunity to serve as the host venue.”
